Silvano MANGIAPELO, born in Rome, Italy, studied at the Conservatorio di “Santa Cecilia” (Rome), “A. Casella” (L’Aquila), “G. Rossini” (Pesaro), and “O. Respighi” (Latina) where he obtained diplomas in the following disciplines: Composition, Organ, Piano, Choral conducting, and Band Arranging. He was then admitted into the “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” obtaining an advanced diploma in Composition as a student of the illustrious F. Donatoni and A. Corghi. Also at this institution, he participated in advanced courses in orchestration and Wind Conducting.At the “Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata” he obtained a Masters diploma in the Musical Cultures of the 19th Century. After having an intense professional career as organist for different organizations ( AGIMUS, Accademia Organistica Romana) and winning the composition prize “P. VALENTI 1993 (2nd Edition)”, he has dedicated himself to Orchestra conducting having obtained his academic degree at the Conservatorio “A. Casella” (L’Aquila) under the guide of N. Samale and V. Antonellini.He also has studied with P. Bellugi (Florence), J. Kalmar and L. Shambadal (Vicenza), Zoltàn Peskò (Hungary), G. Lazzari (Rome - Choral Conducting), and was awarded a diploma at the “Wiener Meister Kurse fur Dirigenten” with Maestro S. Mas Conde (Vienna ). Silvano Mangiapelo studied with Maestro Donato Renzetti at the “Accademia Musicale Pescarese” (Pescara), and obtained a diploma in advanced conducting .He has conducted among other orchestras, the “Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese”, the “Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta”, the "Città Metropolitana di Bari" Orchestra  the Festival Orchestra of Sofia and the Philarmonic Orchestra of Vidin in Bulgaria, the “Nova Amadeus “ Orchestra of Rome, the Youth Greek Orchestra of Tessalonia, the “Florence Symphonietta”, the Youth orchestra of Lanciano, the Symphony Orchestra of Pescara and the State Symphony Orchestra “D. Lipatti” of Satu Mare and Oradea in Romania, the Orchestra of Conservatories of Rome, Frosinone and L'Aquila, the “Savaria” Symphony Orchestra (Hungary) and the UNM Symphony Orchestra of New Mexico (USA). He also has been engaged by important theatres as the “ Mancinelli” ( Orvieto), “Unione” (Viterbo), Colosseo di Roma, “Savoia” (Campobasso), “Comunale” (L'Aquila), the auditorium “Flaiano” (Pescara), Panthoen of Rome and Popejoy Hall in New Mexico (USA).
